Harvest Restaurant

Some time last year, one of my best friends and I were craving for truffle and we discovered Harvest Restaurant which is located on Sukhumvit Soi 31. This restaurant is so convenient for me as I drive everywhere and tend to get lost wherever I go. It is easy to find and has nice parking spots.

As soon as you open the door and step into the restaurant, you’d be amazed of its rustic décor with wood furnitures. This makes us feel like we are in a little European cottage. The food are exquisite and full of quality and creativity, especially their truffle menus! They have so many truffle menus that I had a hard time choosing which one to order. I am a pasta lover, so I always ordered Black Truffle Fettuccine. It is amaaazzzzing and I highly recommend this menu. They use real truffle and you can truly enjoy the taste of truffle. It is my absolute favorite dish. Truffle Fries was also great. Another great dish that I truly enjoyed was Conchiglioni Duck Ragu. Whenever I crave for truffle, I can honestly say that Harvest Restaurant is the first place that pops to mind. Their drinks are also incredible, creative, and well balanced and perfectly blended. I love the vibe, atmosphere, and ambiance of this restaurant.  If you are a truffle lover, like me, this restaurant would not disappoint you. The restaurant is opened daily from 5:30 PM – 12:00 AM.

Shio Yōshoku (Emquartier)

It has been nearly a year since I last made my blog post. I actually have been meaning to write this for a while, but I haven’t had a chance. Since last year up until now, I have visited Shio Yōshoku at Emquartier few times. One of my friends introduced me to this hidden gem and I absolutely loved it! Why did I call it a ‘hidden gem’? Well, it’s because it is sort of hidden! It is located on the 8th floor at the Helix, Emquartier. It then became my new favorite restaurant to celebrate birthdays since it has nice and quiet atmosphere. I have surprised few friends here. I will sum up my visits in this one post.

Shio Yōshoku is a Japanese fusion modern restaurant that is nicely decorated and is quiet, which makes it a perfect place to have a catch-up session with your besties. Just last year, they gave complimentary yogurt spheres with sesame rice crackers; however, I went back this year and they only served rice crackers. I honestly thought the yogurt spheres was weird but some people like it. Their rice crackers were quite good though. They just changed their menu earlier this year. My absolute favorite dish is the Foie Gras and Truffle Risotto. This is not on the menu anymore though, but if you would like to try, you can ask the chef for Mushroom Risotto and add Foie Gras to it. Some of my other recommended dishes can be found below. Everything is so tasty and worth a try! The restaurant is opened daily from 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM.

Penthouse Bar + Grill (Park Hyatt Bangkok)

This week has been a filled with food and fine dining for me. Penthouse Bar + Grill is a new restaurant located on the 34th-36th floors at Bangkok’s hottest new hotel, Park Hyatt Bangkok, which is also at Central Embassy. The dining area is located on the 34/F, the Cocktail Bar is located on the 35/F, and on the 36/F, there is a Rooftop Terrace where you get to enjoy the city skyline and sweet cocktails.

Penthouse Bar + Grill is nicely decorated overlooking the magnificent view of the city. When you enter the restaurant floor (34/F), you will be greeted with an antique motorcycle, which I think is a nice and unique touch – it definitely caught my attention. The restaurant serves all kinds of western food, ranges from green salads to steaks fresh of the charcoal grill to seafood. The staff were really friendly and we have met a digital marketing person for Penthouse Bar + Grill and she took a photo of us and posted on social media. I think that that is a great way to be personal with their customers and a good way to encourage its customers to follow their social media.

The food prices are at its standard 5-star hotel price; however, I do honestly think that the portion is small for its price. Coming from an ex-hotelier though (I used to work at Hyatt as well actually), I was not surprised of the price and the portion that was served. Though the food was good, I have tasted better and it was not that filling for me at all. I think we ordered almost all of the food that was on the menu, and I was still pretty hungry! With all of that being said, I do think that the price is quite expensive for what we receive. But, I guess that’s okay. The restaurant has a great view and amazing ambiance and I guess we paid for that. My friends and I did have an amazing time catching up. The restaurant is opened daily from 6:00 PM-10:00 PM and drinks/cocktails are served between 4:30 PM – 12:00 AM.

Cocotte Farm Roast & Winery

On a lovely Tuesday evening, I had a reunion with a bunch of friends and we picked this restaurant located on Sukhumvit 39, Cocotte Farm Roast & Winery. The restaurant was easy to find and there are nice parking spots in front of the restaurant. I would suggest, though, to make reservations way ahead of time. When we went, we made a reservation on the day of through a website, Chope. Though we requested for seats indoor, we ended up getting seats outdoor since the restaurant was quite full. Luckily, it did not rain until late at night when we were about to leave. Even if it did rain, they have big umbrellas to cover you all from the rain.

Cocotte Farm Roast & Winery serves all kinds of French food and is decorated quite nicely. I would say that the food are quite pricey, but it is reasonable as the quality is  amazing. They give you a good amount of portion and the food are top notch. My absolute favorite dishes are Tomahawk Australian Wagyu and Half Farmer Chicken. As the matter of fact, we enjoyed Half Farmer Chicken so much that we ordered a second one! The roasted chicken was well-cooked, crispy but juicy and tender inside. A Thai sauce was given to us with the chicken. The wagyu steak was well cooked to perfection. The steak was cooked in medium rare and it was very juicy and tasty. Two different kinds of sauces were given to us with roasted garlic for us to enjoy. The cold cuts are also amazing. There are a lot of cheese options for you to choose from and they let you taste it before you make your decision as well. However, the one that I got, 30″ Inch Board, they have it all set for you. My favorite cheese that I would recommend is Truffle Gouda. It is just amazing and I love lovee loveee truffles. As for desserts, I would highly recommend Sticky Toffee Coffee as I think it is quite delicious. The restaurant is opened daily from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM and then again from 5:00 PM-12:00 AM.

Shinsoko Sushi

Yesterday, as part of Thai Mother’s Day long weekend, my family and I continued our celebration and went out for lunch at a relatively new Japanese restaurant, Shinsoko Sushi.

Located at Sukhumvit 26 near Nihonmachi/K Village, Shinsoko Sushi had been opened for nearly 6 months. The place is very easy to get to by car and parking spots are quite big and it is also a small walk from BTS Phrompong. The restaurant is nicely decorated and ambiance is very cozy and welcoming. The staff are really friendly and attentive as well.

Shinsoko Sushi serves all kind of Japanese food, including sushi, famous sushi rolls, sashimi, hot pot, and more. I am not going to lie though, the price of each dish is on the expensive side, but the food quality is spectacular. All of their premium ingredients are imported directly from Japan. Every creation is is so fresh and very tasty and full-flavored. With all of that being said, I would say that it was worth every baht every “satang.” The restaurant is opened daily from 11:30 AM-2:30 PM and then again from 6:00 PM-10:30 PM.

Since there were a lot of us that went, we ordered a lot of food, but the following are what I would recommend for you to try.
